The Gadabouts are dropping in for an evening of "percussive, foot-tappin', yes ma'am, shake your booty good time" Contra Dancing! Get your fix of old time music gone amok interspersed with zesty and beautiful cajun waltzes.
Our caller, John Rogers misspent his youth and much of his adulthood avoiding dance situations because they felt foreign. How "sweet it was to find a dance form that hollered out instructions while you were doing it". John will be hollerin' fer us.
The Gadabouts are: David Massey - piano, fiddle, vocals, John McEwen - percussion, bass, tenor guitar, Marietta Massey - banjo, percussion, Bill Paine - guitar, tenor guitar, mandolin, Kathie Aagard - fiddle.
Also, at the break, will be a wedding ceremony for Piper Call and Kurt Seaburg. All are welcome!
Dancers 25 and under pay only $5 admission, $10 otherwise. Contra is 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
