March 6: 'Wind That Shakes The Barley' with Gary Arthur

Wind That Shakes The Barley

Gary Arthur will be calling contra dances to the music of 'The Wind That Shakes The Barley' on March 6th from 4-7 pm at the Thelma Boltin Center. Introductory workshop for beginning dancers starts at 3:30pm and is highly recommended! Experienced dancers, be there early to partner with those newcomers and help them have the time of their lives!

The Wind that Shakes the Barley is:
• Sarah Mitchell on hammered dulcimer, flute, tin whistle, and percussion;
• Bill Dudley on guitar;
• Kathie Aagaard on fiddle; and
• John McEwen on percussion, Irish banjo, and tenor guitar.

Bring a snack to share and a cup or water bottle to reduce waste. Recommended donation is $10/$5 for age 25 & under. Child care is provided for the youngsters who don't wish to dance, but children old enough to know left and right are welcome to join us!

There is also open waltz with instruction to live music by 'Stay Tuned' from 2:45-3:30 pm. Your donation to the contra dance will get you into the waltz lesson as well. If you only want to waltz, and not stay for the contra dance, we suggest a $5 contribution.
