Contra dance to one of New England's finest bands, Wild Asparagus, in the new covered dance barn at The Dancing Fish, on Lake Santa Fe in Melrose, FL.

The wonders of Wild Asparagus never cease. Together for 30 years, their music has matured like a fine wine. This powerful ensemble brings a unique sound and dynamic energy to contra dancing weaving a spell that you wish would never end. Their creative, driving tunes keep dancers energized and inspired while George’s smooth, efficient calling makes challenging contras seem easy as pie.

April 15: Comes When Called + Stan Prince

'Comes When Called' promises to "delight dance floor denizens" with their Celtic, modern and old-time tunes.

Calling for 'Comes When Called' is Stan Prince, whose believes that "dancers are there to dance to the music and not to listen to the caller once they’ve learned the dance". He has been calling for ten years and dancing a whole lot longer.

On your feet, says Alice from Orlando, with an encore performance in the callers spot, and a retinue of different dances. Ms. Raibourn's calling lineage boasts history of it's own.

The Old Town Band is a Georgia/Florida old-time string band made up of Beverly Smith, John Grimm and Chuck Levy. This Georgia/Florida trio brings together three master musicians steeped in old-time music, creating a sound that is both fresh and alive, while deeply respectful of tradition.
